looked something like this:
dinner with ethan on friday.
driving up the coast to santa barbara on saturday.
walking the quaint downtown and grabbing delicious mexican for lunch.
iced coffee and dessert overlooking the santa barbara harbor.
braving the traffic back to orange county, eating leftover mexican for dinner and watching she's the man and rango to finish off the day.
doing nothing on sunday. and "nothing" looks like cleaning, drinking lots of coffee, burgers for lunch, and watching unknown before ethan headed out to los angeles to spend some time with his family.
it sounds like it may have had just the right amount of adventure and relaxation, but to be honest, i was glad i was with ethan because not many other parts of the weekend were very good. mostly, santa barbara was a big let-down. i won't go into details because i don't want to sound ungrateful, but let's just say that i won't ever be going back and i would not recommend it to anyone else. or maybe it just wasn't ethan and my cup of tea. we love places that feel like home and have a little culture and character. santa barbara was more a blend of trends and pop culture and it just wasn't for us. we spent most of the day talking about temecula and wishing we had gone there instead. on the upside, i can now cross santa barbara off my "southern california to-do list." and it's onto the next thing, which we're hoping will be riding the rollercoasters at six flags magic mountain. :) never a dull weekend in southern california, that much i can say!
in other news, i am going back to school in the fall! the last time i was in school was fall 2009, so it's been way too long, in my opinion. i'm enrolled in 11 units of classes (french, psychobiology, and logic) and i can't wait to start! i adore everything about school and it feels great to know that i'm going to be doing something important for myself and for my future.
in other, other news, i think i am getting sick, so i'm going to keep it short and sweet. farewell, dear bloggy friends :) i hope you all had a wonderful july weekend.
and helloooo august.
i can't believe you are already here
and i can't wait to see what sweet summer things you will bring.
