so, erika from chambanachik tagged me to do this fun little survey thingy!  i swear i haven't done one of these things since high school, so it was totally fun to play along:) i hope you do, too!

11 Facts About Me

1. i was quite the troublemaker at the church i grew up in...doing all kinds of heathen things, like wearing shorts on sunday mornings, leaving the campus to walk across the street to get coffee with my friends, and passing notes during service.  a lot of the members there prided themselves on being holy; i prided myself on driving them crazy:)

2.  i can't stand the feeling of being constricted by winter clothes.  i will turn up my house heater as high as it can go, just so i can walk around in a tank top and shorts.

3.  The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is my favorite book of all time.

4.  once my friend, always my friend.

5.  i'd pick the mountains over the ocean any day.

6.  i cry at 99% of the movies i watch.

7. my perfect day looks something like: sitting in a cozy coffee shop.  next to a window to watch the rain drizzling outside.  an extra large, warm mug between my hands with a delicious white mocha inside of it.  someone i love sitting across from me.  where we'd laugh and talk for hours about all kinds of deep and hard and good life things.

8.  i have no patience to dig through piles of thrift store clothes like some women do.  but so help me, if there is a pile, a stack, a bookshelf of VHS tapes to be sorted through?  that's where you'll find me.  and i will always leave with a treasure:)

9. i have a collection of ticket stubs from every movie, concert, theme park i've been to since i was 13 years old.

10. unless adventure calls, i will rarely swim in water that i can't see through due to an odd paranoia i have of fish touching me when i swim.  it freaks me out!

11. i am a fat-free/sugar-free/diet-anything atheist.  i do not believe in the idea of those things and i refuse to accept them as even an option.

erika's questions for moi:)

1. What is something you're known for?

yikes.  probably my laugh. being stubborn and very emotional.  and also, being short.  i am often referred to as, hey munchkin!/midget!/hobbit!/frodo!

2. What dessert would you make for me if I came for a visit?

probably chocolate cream pie.  it's delicious and nearly impossible to ruin.

3. If you could have any animal for a pet, what would you pick?

i'm gonna have to be boring and say a great dane:)

4. Where do you see yourself in 50 years?

i'd like to be living in a small country house on a big piece of land down south.  my old--yet still handsome--husband would be with me.  together, we'd drink in the sunrises with a cup of coffee and sunsets with sweet tea.  and our house would always be full of our families--making memories and creating laughter.

if not that, then i'll take some beachfront property in hawaii;) either way!

5. What was the best day of your life so far?

i have to share three:) the first, the day i came to know Jesus.  cliche, but so very true:) the second would be a couple weeks after i got out of a two-year abusive relationship.  i stood waist-deep in the water at lake tahoe, california with the mountains as the backdrop and the summer sun beating down on my face.  and for the first time in years, i had peace that everything was going to be okay.  it was amazing.  and the third? was after a day in santa cruz, california with my best friend.  it was a horrible day and neither of us had fun.  we were trying to get home and after realizing i had driven an hour in the wrong direction, i went off the freeway to turn around.  as i did that, we came across this gorgeous white beach that--no joke--had this epic cross right at the crest of it.  we quickly parked, got out and spent the rest of the afternoon splashing around in the water fully-dressed, unearthing hundreds of sand dollars and watching the sun set.  God is so cool.

6. What kind of things do you do every single day, without fail?

drink coffee.  send a lot of text messages.  shower.  sing.  think about God.

7. What would be your perfect date night?

oh gosh, love this question.  dinner and and live music at a little cafe.  talking for hours.  an evening walk under the stars, preferably on the beach or in the mountains.  glasses of wine and slow-dancing to candlelight.  then, curling up together to watch a movie.

8. Where is your favorite place to be?

home.

9. What is something valuable you've learned from your mom and/or dad?

my mom has taught me that to have faith is to have everything.

10.  What color do you like to wear the most?

white or emerald green.

11. What did you want to be when you grew up? (And are you there yet?)

i've wanted to be a missionary since i was probably 7 years old.  i haven't got to be one in the way i planned, but God has used me in ways i never imagined.  now i'm really passionate about working with abandoned or abused children.  God-willing, that dream will come true one of these days.
