Info Post
last night, with my friend, cecilia, and her argentinian family, i sat around and ate plate after plate of delicious food.  I drank champagne while helping with puzzles and we watched the performers on the dick clark show.  and for midnight, we put on hats and masquerade masks and blew horns and popped confetti and clinked our champagne glasses together.  it was the New Years i always imagined having.

of course, New Year's Eve always feels a bit anti-climactic to me.  we wait for midnight and then a minute later, it's 12:01am and it's time to pack up, go home, and get started on the year.

i'll be honest, i'm a little hesitant to say good-bye to 2011.  it was such a solid year to me and to let it slip away seems something like playing russian roulette.  i know 2011 was a good year, so why risk the odds by trying 2012?

i always heard this theory where it is said that your New Year's Eve predicts how the rest of your year is going to go.  despite my good evening, though, i decided that, instead of playing the odds, that i would pray.  A LOT.  particularly on my 1:30am drive home.  i meant to put in The Civil Wars CD and instead i ended up with Lincoln Brewster's "Shout for Joy."  and i left it and worshipped and prayed that 2012 would be a lot less about me and more lot about HIM.  that is truly my prayer for these next 365 days.

i'll be back soon with another New Year's post, but for now, i'm going to enjoy a quiet sunday that i plan to be filled with chocolate chip waffles, some episodes of it's always sunny, and a whole lot of catching up on blogs. :)

happy new years day, all. <3
